P6190077Claire Appleby is The Slow Coach, offering a life coaching service that supports clients who want to improve the quality and/or sustainability of their lifestyle by simplifying, slowing down and revitalising their creativity.

Clients come to coaching when they need to change some aspects of their lives but need support in order to do this. Clients may simply need to be better organised in order to spend more time on creative work, or they may wish to make radical changes such as a career change or down-shifting, e.g. moving from a highly paid but stressful job in the city to a more rural location with a lower income but better work-life balance.

Claire specialises in empowering people to spend more time on what is really important to them, whether that is family, community, the environment, creativity, or overall quality of life. Her clients have included artists, photographers, composers and singers, busy mums, garden designers, environmental consultants and business consultants. Before training as a life coach she worked for nearly 30 years in the environmental sector ranging from wildlife illustrator to Senior Business and Systems Analyst at the World Conservation Monitoring Centre. She still works as an Associate Lecturer for the Open University, tutoring a postgraduate course in environmental responsibility and supervising students undertaking Masters level research in topics related to environmental values, environmental responsibility and environmental technology.
